Skyfall - Adele

Sung by the beautiful Adele, Skyfall is rich and moving. Personally, I believe that Adele's voice was perfectly suited for this song. The deep tones really struck a chord with me (no pun intended). This is from the soundtrack of Skyfall, the newest James Bond movie to date. Fantastic movie, please go watch it if you haven't already. And with that, enjoy! LLK

Free Bird- Lynyrd Skynrd

Lynn Harrell: Rachmaninoff: Cello Sonata in G Minor, IV: Allegro Mosso

I am practicing this piece in college. The allegro mosso is the finale from probably the
most popular and in my opinion the greatest of romantic cello sonate. All movements are
sweeping and romantic. The cello part is challenging, but the piano part was essentially written
for the composer himself, because of the technical demands incumbent on the pianist that
is not very common at least in an accompaniment role. The finale in my opinion has melodic
elements that conjure images. It opens with a brief introduction with the piano, and the cello
immediately takes over with a joyous and beguiling melody reminiscent of American Western
films. Passing through moods of romanticism, turbulence, the sonata ultimately comes to a
naive sounding coda that brings this sonata to a triumphant but brilliant and joyous coda
Unfortunately, I won't be able to perform it this year, but that does not detract from Harrell's
                  virtuosity.

Evocation-Massenet

I played this piece for one of my MYS concerts last year and really miss hearing it. It has an extremely powerful beginning and changes to reveal a beautiful new theme every so often. Some may believe that the theme changes are too abrupt, but I love it! -JA

I Knew You Were Trouble by Taylor Swift

This is one of Taylor Swift's new song hits from her album "Red". It's a much more edgy side of her compared to her usual country songs and it is currently number 1 on iTunes!! Hope ya like it

Lindsey Stirling-Phantom of the Opera medley

Lindsey started her career on America's Got Talent as the hip hop violinist in 2010. Since then, she's been putting covers and medleys on youtube with original choreography. She has recently come out with her own album and is about to go on tour. She's amazing! -JA

I Dreamed a Dream Anne Hathaway

This is one of the main songs to the popular musical "Les Miserables". This particular version is from the newly released interpretation of the popular 19th century novel, with Anne Hathaway singing as Fantine.
