Christmas in Sarajevo/Carol of the Bells- Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Most of you have probably heard this song before, considering that it's TSO's most famous hit.  When I was a kid, I used to sit next to the radio during the Christmas season until this song came on, because I loved it so much.  I also tried to get tickets for a concert every time a contest was announced, but never won.  Anyway, it tops my list of Christmas classics.  And for those who prefer Hanukkah, there's always Adam Sandler's Hanukkah song (versions 1, 2, and 3).

Happy Holidays!

P.S.  Other great songs- Seasons in the Sun by Terry Jacks and Overature by Ben Gibbard and Steve Fisk.

As Long As It Matters- Gin Blossoms

Staying with the whole '90's theme (I kinda have a thing for this decade of music...), As Long As It Matters was a hit off of Gin Blossoms' 1996 "Best of" album.  If mellow alternative music is your style, check it out.  PLUS, THEY HAVE A TAMBOURINE AND RANDOM SHINY GREEN DISCO BALL.  just sayin'.

More music to come...maybe some holiday themed stuff.  Over and out.

Chambermaid Swing By Parov Stelar

Another overseas artist, Parov Stelar is an interesting mix of techno and swing. His band consists of a sax, trumpet, bass, drums, vocals, and programming. He is also considered the inception of the genre called electroswing - the familiar house beats intertwined with swing of the 1920s and 30s. Take a listen and swing your feet to the Chambermaid Swing.

Alice in Chains MTV Unplugged Part 1

For those of you who enjoy a mix of teen-angsty lyrics and roaring guitars with soft melodies, you should definitely listen to early 90's grunge, a.k.a Nirvana, Alice in Chains, etc.  I might be a little biased from the two Nirvana posters on my wall and the shirts in my closet, but still...enjoy!

R.I.P Layne Staley, Mike Starr, Kurt Cobain, etc.
P.S.  This is the MTV Unplugged version of one of AiC's last concerts, so it's a little lighter than most of their songs usually are.  Watch the Nirvana one, too!

Who Knows Who Cares by the Local Natives

Watershed by Indigo girls

This song Is so powerful and it makes me cry everytime I listen to it. The Indigo girls were the background music to my life because they are my mom's favorite and i guess it just naturally happened that they became one of my favorite artists.

Thank you,
 Izzy

Fel Del Av GÄrden - Movits!

Coming from the country of Sweden, the musical group Movits! is a unique mix of hip-hop and swing. Gaining such acclaim in Europe, their music eventually traveled over to North America where they were featured on The Colbert Report. Even if you can't understand the words, the song is catchy and fun to listen to. Enjoy the song!

Elle Me Dit- MIKA

If you have dance moves that you've never really brought out of the bedroom, this song brings 'em out (or maybe it's only me...)
